Located in the eastern foot of Geunjeong Mountain, Beomeosa is a huge Buddhist temple that was built in 678. The great monk Eusang of the Shilla Dynasty founded this beautiful temple. A habitat of some 500 wisterias that are over 100 years-old are located to the left of the temple entrance and have been designated as natural monument no. 176. The overall tranquility of the area attracts many visitors annually with its surrounding area full of cultural assets and tourist attractions. One attraction is the Geumjeong Mountain and its fortress and just one of the reasons that this area is in the spotlight as a recommended excursion.
